                                   Programmable Logic Controller
                           (PLC) Training Program

Course Purpose:

This course is designed as an introduction to programmable controller systems. You will learn what programmable controller systems are, how they work, and how they can be used to control various processes and machines. In addition, you will receive a thorough introduction to RSLogix 5 or RSLogix 500 software and learn how to interpret simple ladder logic.

The course is taught in a hands-on environment, featuring PLC-5® or SLC 500™ system workstations. Where applicable, demonstrations are included to facilitate the hands-on exercises that follow each lesson.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, you will have a fundamental understanding of programmable controller systems. Specifically, you will be able to perform the following tasks:

o        Identify the main components of programmable controller systems and describe their functions

o        Describe the flow of information through a programmable controller system

o        Navigate through the RSLogix 5 or RSLogix 500 software

o        Transfer, monitor, and run projects on a PLC-5 or SLC 500 processor

o        Interpret simple ladder logic

o        Program in PLC
